Around the Q - Rob Fleming - Principal

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Parent Teacher session this week. We had over 300 individual sessions booked in with a similar number also booked, ready to go in Week 1 of Term 3. If you have yet to book please be aware the booking system will close at 3:00pm on Monday 21st July.
It was pleasing to have conversations with parents on the night who passed on their feedback about the positive experiences that their child/children are having at Queechy. In particular, many parents spoke about the high level of connection between our staff and their child. These strong relationships are a hallmark of our work at Queechy and have been a particular focus of our professional learning with staff this year.
We strongly encourage parents to also have a close relationship with our teaching team and school leaders. If you have any concerns at all about how your child is progressing or wish to reach out to staff for a conversation, then please feel free to do this at any time of the year.
We held our NAIDOC Week Assembly this week with guest speakers from our local aboriginal community. This is a significant opportunity for us to celebrate the diversity that makes Queechy such a great school to attend. We have a strong program within our school that encourages connection with community for our aboriginal students. If your child doesn’t currently take advantage of these opportunities then please reach out to Marie Stannus or Legana Hughes, our
Aboriginal Education Workers, so we can encourage them to be involved in upcoming cultural events.

I encourage all our staff and students to make the most of the upcoming holidays. Relax, refresh and re-charge ready to hit the ground running in Term 3.
